Overview

Chieri is a small town about 15 km away from the city of Turin, in Piedmont Region (Italy), with 36.800 inhabitants and an area of 54 km².
The town’s history is strongly connected to textile industry, which, starting from the 15th century, made the city extremely influential and rich. Today, Chieri’s past is still visible in its streets and architectures.
The Municipality of Chieri is included in the development and implementation of sustainable mobility projects, in particular with Polytechnic of Turin developed the Biciplan project for the building of the urban and extra-urban cycling network.
The Municipality is also committed in the promotion of virtuous behavior concerning sustainable mobility, in particular with schools it encourages, through educational paths, the use of alternative means for home-school transfers.
